Vice President of Finance

Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and coordinate company financial planning, payroll, budget and IT management functions
- Act as privacy officer and establish guidelines as set out by the privacy regulations
- Provide, monitor and analyze monthly and annual operating results against budget
- Oversee daily operations of the finance, payroll and IT department
- Prepare financial cost analysis of products manufactured and assist in development of dealer sales price lists in concert with the sales manager
- Assist with overseeing corporate banking, group insurance and corporate insurance
- Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal government regulations relating to licensing, taxation, payroll and other legal reporting
- Preparation of confidential payroll and T4 filings
- Assist in the planning and implementation of financial accounting and costing systems
- Evaluate and maintain adequate property, asset and liability insurance coverage
- Ensure compliance with import and export documentation/regulation
- Member of management labour relations and negotiating committee
- Member of Pension Committee
- Ensure ISO audits conform to current ISO standards
- Establish and implement departmental goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures
- Work with department managers to develop budgets and business plans for the company
- Design, establish and maintain an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the department’s goals and objectives
- Contribute to formulation of policy and strategy as part of senior management
- Preparation of grant applications, SRED claims, and workshare when required
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills:
- A proven leader with the ability to problem solve, plan and lead improvement initiatives, develop people and build teams
- Effective communicator
- University degree (Business, Finance, Economics or MBA)
- Accounting designation (CPA)
- 10+ years in senior finance/accounting roles
- Experience in the Manufacturing sector
- Strong technical accounting skills (may have had previous experience as a Controller)
- Strong budgeting and analysis skills
- In-depth understanding of the application of Activity Based Costing methods
